The Village Association held it's ever popular Duck Race on
the Ritec river. Even though the weather was a serious concern, it made the
duck race the best ever, with a great water flow and as a result a large crowd walked along the river bank cheering on their
ducks. Prize money went to the first 3 winning ducks, plus the Childrens were invited to bring along
their own ducks or bath toy to race down the river, this was very exciting
because the children were able to follow their own toy to the finish line and
it was even better than last year, with Easter eggs for prizes.
Other attractions on the day were hot dogs, Teddy Tombola stall and Stalls,
Tea, Coffee and Cakes and an Easter Egg Hunt, best yet........ down by the
Mill.
A huge thank you to those who participated and especially for the helpers and those who donated cakes and raffle prizes, which made this event such a success. "A fantastic" amount was raised from the Duck Race. Well Done everyone :-) |
